Millennial Leadership Summit

Mobilize.org is pioneering an innovative engagement model that leverages the unique characteristics of the Millennial Generation – collaboration, diversity, technological savvy and an entrepreneurial spirit – to ensure that this generation has equal access to actively participate in our democracy, and the skills, resources, relationships and support necessary to work, both individually and collectively to move our communities and our country forward.

With the generous support of American Express, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, Laurie M. Tisch Illumination Fund, Lumina Foundation for Education , Peter G. Peterson Foundation, and The New Community College at CUNY, Mobilize.org hosted a Millennial Leadership Summit on November 10-12, 2011 focused on leadership development opportunities for past Award Winners and summit participants. This summit convened members of the Mobilize.org network from the past 10 years to offer collaborative learning opportunities, skill-building workshops and Millennial speaking opportunities.

Mobilize.org would like to thank everyone who participated in the Millennial Leadership Summit on November 10-12, 2011.  With over 130 social innovators and philanthropic leaders in attendance, the Millennial Leadership Summit showcased the work of 34 past summit award winners and civic entrepreneurs from across the country with Millennial-led expert sessions and TED style talks.  A special thanks to our many partners who participated in the summit and shared their expertise and insight throughout the convening.
